Our first trip to Vegas!

Didn't someone say "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas?" Well, not for us, cause we're about to give y'all all the details from the trip we took about a month ago! ;)

We went with some of our best gals, Leslie (@splendid_rags) and Cyn (@hotpinkpineapples) who, luckily for us, had both been to Vegas a few times before so they were able to show us the ropes!

And we'll start by saying we didn't go to Vegas for the traditional "Vegas" experience. I mean, we love a good cocktail as much as the next girl, but neither of us are "woo girls", so we did it a little differently and we loved it!

First of all, our stay was made amazing, thanks to Tru by Hilton! It was just as colorful as we were and had a make your own DONUT BAR! Need we say more?!

Okay, now that you know about the donuts, we can keep going.

Yeah, like we said, we did things our own way! We knew we wanted to eat some really good food, drink some really good cocktails, take some photos, and do some vintage shopping-- and that's exactly what we did!

Vegas has some of the coolest thrift/vintage shops and we had the best time scouring them for good finds!

Our first night there, we went to this faaaabulous all night diner (if you haven't grasped it by now, kitschy things that are meant for old people are our thing, soooo). This place was called the Peppermill and it was like a neon version of the Rainforest Cafe where everyone was slightly tipsy. And we all ordered omelettes and mimosas at like, 11 pm, and that was just the definition of living our best lives.

We also visited Freemont St on our first night, which is apparently the OG Vegas. We have to say that neither of us were huge fans of it, and wouldn't hang out there if we went back, BUT we did go to a really vibey piano bar for a bit that we really enjoyed. We watched our other girls win (and lose) some money and then headed back to our hotel!

The next morning we all had some work to do before heading out for the evening! We had breakfast and hung around in our hotel's colorful lobby, and then went out thrifting!

Also got a chance get workin' on our fitness, as Fergie says, in the Tru hotel gym!

One of our favorite stops of the trip was this shop, Retro Vegas. Which just so happens to have a really cute wall. :)

Our second night was filled with alllll the yummy food and drinks, all thanks to you guys who follow us coming in clutch with your recommendations! We still say our favorite food we had the whole trip were the grilled cheese dumplings (YES GRILLED CHEESE DUMPLINGS) at Beauty and Essex. And their cocktails were amazing to boot! After that we visited the Chandelier Bar, which was also an amazing recommendation. It's literally a bar inside a chandelier. So, um, go.

Another favorite part of the trip was this tiki bar we went to, called The Golden Tiki, I think. It's nowhere near the main strip. In fact, I think it might be in a strip mall, but it was AMAZING. Probably the most amazing tiki drinks we've ever had. Isn't that how it works? The hole in the wall places alllllways come through. It basically felt like Disneyland and we 100% would go again!

On our last day, we had a few more sites we wanted to see before heading back.

We stopped at the rainbow pipes, the pink cadillac...

aaaaaand, Seven Magic Mountains. Which was basically a religious experience. We felt the same about Salvation Mtn when we saw it for the first time. Something about seeing these art installations in the middle of nowhere that just gets us all choked up.

And on our way home, we introduced Cyn and Leslie to Cracker Barrel because there's one just outside Vegas and we couldn't resist. :)

Happy to be exploring more of the world with these gals.

Modernism Week in Palm Springs

I mean...we go to Palm Springs so often now, I'm sure you're surprised we don't own a second home there. We are too. :P

We have wanted to go to Modernism Week in Palm Springs for awhile now, and we FINALLY WENT! If you don't know what Modernism Week is, here's a little blurb from their website:

The mission of Modernism Week is to celebrate and foster appreciation of midcentury architecture and design, as well as contemporary thinking in these fields, by encouraging education, preservation and sustainable modern living as represented in the greater Palm Springs area.

So basically, people open up their homes for viewing and appreciation of the architecture and interior design. HOLY INSPO. From the color, to the fabrics...everything is SO well thought out and placed. It's no wonder they made us wear little protective booties over our shoes! We also went on a Palm Springs Door Tour with Bike Palm Springs. It was waaayyy too much fun! We started at the Saguaro, and biked to a nearby neighborhood with all the fun doors that you see on Instagram all the time. ;)

We partnered with Dunn-Edwards to go check it all out! Dunn-Edwards is responsible for the AMAZING re-do of the paint at the Saguaro, *major heart eyes*, in addition to a lot of the homes and doors that are famous for their color in Palm Springs and beyond! All doors you see below, ALL Dunn-Edwards! Sponsored or not, we will sing their praises time and time again. Great company, great people. <3

We were so lucky to be able to share this experience with some of our nearest and dearest...we had way too much fun! Here's a little taste into our trip!

All in all, we had a blast at Modernism Week! We would highly suggest checking it out, if you're able. All the midcentury-modern/colorful goodness!!

Pitches Night In!

*This post was sponsored by Universal Pictures Home Entertainment, but all opinions are our own.*

When all your favorite gals are in town, it's a literal necessity to have the biggest sleepover/movie night of all time, complete with the newest Pitch Perfect film. In true Beca fashion, we made popcorn with crazy toppings and a little champagne to top it off.

The Bellas are back for one last call in Pitch Perfect 3. Now available on iTunes, own it with new musical performances, gag reel and extended scenes not seen in theaters. *praise hands*

We've been fans of the aca-awesome Bellas since day one. So as soon as we knew when Pitch Perfect 3 was available to watch on iTunes (cause let's be real, we don't wanna leave our couch), we knew we had to throw one ultimate Pitches Night In. And being the over the top people that we are, personalized snacks and drinks are right up our alley. We like options, people!

A Make-Your-Own Popcorn Bar is always a win with us, so we knew it would be a hit with our babes as well.

We decided on a sweet & salty kind of thing. We had sea salt popcorn and caramel corn as a base, and had our guests top it off with their adornments of choice. Some of them included: gummy bears, chocolate syrup, crushed Oreos, sprinkles, M&M's, Fruity Pebbles....too much sugar? ;) But literally anything could work, just depending on your taste!

Common misconception: mimosas are just for the morning. Puhhhlease! What is a girl's night without a little bubbly?! We know the Bellas would approve. ;) We also had our guests make their own mimosas with their choice of juice. Some of our favorites are the classic OJ, strawberry lemonade, and peach nectar. But we don't discriminate against any mimosa. One and all are welcome.

We also gave into the cliche of "typical girls slumber party" and 100% all did at home manicures with these cute Pitch Perfect themed nail polishes! #noshame

Once the snacks are made and drinks are poured, all ya need is your best girls around you and your favorite flick! All cram on one couch and laugh until your cheeks hurt, or someone pees. haha! It's the best.

What's your favorite way to slumber party? Favorite snacks, drinks, pampering activities? If we could make one suggestion, it's to get your best pitches together this weekend to watch Pitch Perfect 3 and cry laughing over this powerful girl gang! #squadgoals

Love you awesome nerds. ;)
