Cort's Bedroom Reveal!

Just rolling on through with the home update posts. I don't know if we'll ever stop being excited about these. A bit ago, we both revealed our living room updates on the blog (and if you haven't read them, you totally should, we're not biased at all), and now we're moving on through to our bedrooms!

Just to give y'all a frame of reference, here are the "before" shots of my bedroom!

One thing I did love about this room when we moved in was the light colored floors. The floors in our last place were really dark and I just couldn't get over it! And also the natural light in here is really great! We've got a huge window, which in L.A., I feel like that's pretty rare for a bedroom. Our last apartment kind of looked like a cave. ha!

Anyway, I just saw potential with this room! As I said in my living room post, I would classify my home style as boho, colorful, with a touch of mid-century modern. I knew I wanted to add lots of color, an accent wall, and just more, because, well, we didn't really have very much as you can see. ;)

Soooooo.....

Ta-da!!!

To me, it looks like a completely different room and it only took me 7 months to complete, but MAN, I've never felt so happy in a bedroom. It really feels like a sanctuary to me now and I love spending time in it!

So, now for the details!

So, we actually had this dresser in our last apartment. It's from IKEA, and it came with all black hardware! But we recently replaced all the knobs with these pretty gold ones from Emtek! These are the Mod Hex Knobs in satin brass and they totally made me fall in love with this dresser! And WAY cheaper than buying a whole new dresser!

Once again, I have to sing Overstock's praises! I fell in love with this Moroccan Rug. It was one of the first pieces I put in the room, and I love the texture and boho feel it adds! We also added this cute rattan basket from World Market for some cute storage, since we always need more storage, tbh.

This wallpaper by Society 6 is also something I'm still swooning over. It's temporary and SO easy to install! This is the Tropical Hibiscus and Palm Leaf print in dark coral. Wallpaper is something I've always loved the look of, but we're still a long way off from owning a place, so permanent wallpaper isn't really an option. And some temporary wallpaper just DOESN'T work. Lucky for us, this one had the exact print and feel I wanted and it's holding up great! We also used Society 6 for our entire bed set. Our comforter, pillow cases, and throw pillows! I just love all the choices they have!

And y'all probably know by now that I have an obsession with Target. Our side tables were the perfect amount of boho/Hawaiian-ish for me, and they're from the new Opal House collection! And our mid-century modern style lamp is also from Overstock!

Our headboard is also from Target, and the "chill" sign above our bed is from Urban Outfitters and one of my favorite details in the whole room! Lily's yellow & white bed is also from Target. Are you surprised? ;)

This has been my favorite room to redo so far, and I hope y'all like it as much as I do!

xoxo,

Cort
