Watercolor Ribbon DIY

WARNING: This may be the easiest DIY you'll ever do!!

I love wearing bows in my hair. It makes me feel like Summer in "500 Days of Summer." (I just LOVE Zooey Deschanel's style in that movie!) I wanted to jazz up some ribbon I had lying around, so I thought I'd try watercoloring it! I had no idea how it would turn out, but I thought I'd give it a go. And it turned out super cute!!

You'll need:

-Watercolor palette (if you want this one, get it here)

-Paintbrush

-Cup of water

-Papertowels

-Ribbon (I used a baby pink with wiring in the edges to make my bow have shape)

Let's start!

Start with picking a color palette. I went with sunset/jewel tones. I started with the darkest color. Make sure to get enough water in the paint so it leaks onto the ribbon when applied. Make some spots heavier with the color and thin other places. You'll come back through with other colors to make it look full. You can always add more, you can't take any away!

I went back through with a scarlet red/orange. Looks kinda fiery, huh! I decided after I was almost finished to put a cool contrast in with the teal. I love how it looks! The key is to make it heavy in some spots and wispy in others to make it look balanced. Let it dry then put on your cute new bow!

Brb, making a million to wear everyday. #ponytailsbeforemales
