Halloween Cream Soda

Who else is planning a Halloween party?! We are, we are!

Because in L.A. (unless you want to be smashed in the middle of a million other people in costumes, of course...and also wait in traffic for 17 hours), it's basically impossible to go out on Halloween. (Okay, maybe it's not impossible, maybe we just don't want to do it). Either way!

Halloween is one of our favorite holidays! We usually get together with friends, play Cards Against Humanity, watch a fun movie like Hocus Pocus or Nightmare Before Christmas (cause we're not about that horror movie life), have yummy food and drinks and dance parties to Beyonce. Pretty good evening in our books!

And would we even be us if we didn't have at least one themed drink?! Absolutely not! We love us a good theme. And Halloween is the excuse to have all the sugar...or is that every holiday? So, this boozy cream soda is the perfect party punch!

You could serve it in a bowl if you like, but we always prefer to have one prepared & passed drink because we think we're Martha Stewart or something like that. And how can we expect everyone to know the proper proportions?! ;) Half kidding...but cutesy cocktail glasses always make an appearance for our themed drinks.

And it's pretty easy!

All you need is:

  • Orange Soda
  • Vanilla Ice Cream (or Sherbert would probably work well too!)
  • Orange Extract
  • Vodka (or desired liquor)

Obviously, how much of these ingredients you use depends on how many people you're serving & how you decide to serve the cocktail! For each prepared cocktail, we did 3 tablespoons of vanilla ice cream, about a cup of orange soda (give or take...neither of us were taught to measure...#southern), 1/4 tsp of orange extract, and 1.5 oz of vodka! Again, depends on how ya like it! Taste test it along the way!

Start by spooning the ice cream into the glass, add the orange extract & the vodka, and then top it off with the orange soda! Stir gently with a straw or stir stick, and voila!

Also, while you're preparing these delish drinks for all your guests, it's basically required that you say, "Who loves orange soda?! Kel loves orange soda! I do, I do, I do-ooooh!" Otherwise you're cheating your audience from the full experience.

Another also, can we just take a sec to gush at how ridiculously adorable these straws, stir sticks, and this "I'm Here for the Boos" banner is?! All by our girl Amber at Dixie and Twine! Seriously, if you need any holiday decorations (or just cute things for your life in general), check out her shop!

If any of y'all have any go-to Halloween recipes, be sure to leave them in the comments!

Happy Halloween-ing, babes!

xoxo,
